Diving Article

I don't know if this link will work, but this is an article that ran in yesterday's paper about the championship meets going on this week. There was an awesome picture in the paper of one of my divers as well, and I'll scan it and get it up here as soon as I have a minute or two. I've been busy enough this week with meets every day and homework that I haven't finished Harry Potter yet... I've never taken more than 10 hours to finish one before! As far as the meet goes, I am ecstatic as our team looks like it will be doubling how many points we earned last year. Wahoo!!!

Anniversary #2

A friend of mine gave me a photo album to keep pictures of Dave and I on our anniversary in. This is something I have managed to keep up on! Our anniversary was actually July 9. We went out for dinner and spent the day quietly. I don't love this picture, so I'll have to spend more time on this in future years.

Cabinets. Done.

We will be redoing the countertops and backsplash, too.

Drumroll, please...

The cabinets. Before.

The drumroll is because I am truly going to work on my paper now, and who knows when I'll get the 'after' shot uploaded.

Lucas is Two

My nephew turned two years old two weeks ago now. I did finally find him a SpongeBob backpack. Kmart (where I ended up after the disappointment that was Toys 'R' Us) had some backpacks that were smaller, but they had wheels and a handle, and it made it much more bulky. I also thought that the backpack would be more prone to break with the extra parts. So Lucas ended up with a Spongebob backpack that is the size of him. But he takes it everywhere. :)

There is also a picture of his cake. The cake that he knocked off the kitchen table before the party and got into, as you can see.

Cool Stuff

  • You need to check out Google Translator if you haven't already. Go to Language Tools on Google's main page, and then you can have any text translated. The really spooky part was when I put in for my blog to be translated. Within 3 seconds, my entire blog popped up in Spanish. It took about 10 seconds, but my blog also popped up in Arabic. I am just amazed that that kind of technology exists.
  • I spent an entire day after a sand volleyball game in complete discomfort because I had sand in my eye. I tried flushing it with water, submersing my head, swimming, all to no avail. It took me 5 minutes on the Internet to finally find the remedy, and I need to share it with you. I was in all sorts of pain with a huge headache, and I was so relieved. In order to get something stuck in your eyelid out, pull your upper eyelid over your lower eyelid. The lashes on your lower eyelid will brush out the offending object.
